THE CITY OF MORDHEIM

OK, that's not the city's real name but everyone calls it that since the Crystal Night. Once it had a good orthodox name: Sankt Doloresburg, after Dolores Dei, the Unschuld who sponsored so many deadly expeditions to the north. The large golden Guldin still bears her head.

Tanzelwurm Inn

In folklore the tanzelwurm is a snake with a cat's head. Why the sinewy proprietor named his inn after it remains a mystery. It is a decent place with hot food and cheap beds however.

Schwarze Auge store & smithy

Quite a large workshop at the border of the town in an abandoned factory hall. Hella 'with the one-eye' sells basic expeditionary gear and weapons and even buys shady merchandise.

The Executioner

A decadent woman with a seductive voice, wearing neglected clothes. Her face is usually covered by an executioner's hood. She can be very friendly or very vindictive. Excellent tanner. Loves her pet bird.

The Perfumer

An elderly man, groomed clothes, white-faced and wig-wearing. People think he has something to hide but he might be the only option a wounded graverobber low on cash has.

Mordheim is an old city, or so they say. The current name is only a few generations old, the colonization perhaps a few more, but the foundations of the city are laid on the ruins of an ancient civilization.  Examples can be seen in the altstadt, for example the old cathedral.

Sankt Dolores cathedral

A massive orthodox cathedral, still used for worship, even though the population of Mordheim is converting to puritanism. The aging Bisshop has no answer to this new radical faith and waits silently in the grand old building. The orthodox symbol is the allseeing eye.

The House of Sober Mirth

Puritan house of prayer, watched over by Vicar Amelia. A modest people, those puritans, but with the puritans came the witch hunters that plague the streets of Mordheim. The puritan symbol is the staff-and-snake.

The Peddler

Wemut, the nervous peddler, has quite the collection of tradegoods. The man is often cold in the wind swept streets of Mordheim, so look for him near the fire of the Tanzelwurm Inn. You pay him in trade goods or small silver pennies called Kreutzer.

The Magician

Baldasarre, the Bearer of Three Powers is a mysterious man from the east. He wears a elegant purple cloak and some say he also owns one of those exotic turbans. Is he an imposter, a conjurer of cheap tricks? Or is there more than meets the eye with this fellow?
